We were into tacos before tacos were hip across America. In the restaurant business, dining fads come and go but tradition will always win out in the end. Our tradition stems from the Mexican family recipes perfected over generations that we now proudly serve to you, your family, and friends.
Founded in 1996 as a donut shop by local restaurateur, Cesar Jasso, Cesar’s Tacos got its humble start as Cesar’s Donuts. As a donut shop, prospects were very gloom and his success was strictly limited to the early hours of the day with a limited offering of coffee and donuts. Facing the burden of mounting debt from his buyout of the previous owner and long hours to boot, Mr. Jasso increased his offerings to include a vast array of traditional Mexican cuisine favorites, such as flautas, tacos, and gorditas.
Overtime, the sale of these “side items” surpassed the sale of donuts and coffee, and, in 2004, Cesar’s Donuts became Cesar’s Tacos, expanding to a chain in DFW of seven taco stands.
In 2009 Mr. Jasso also founded Mariscos La Marea, a Mexican-themed chain of seafood restaurants, offering an eclectic mix of Mexican-style seafood, traditional Mexican dishes such as Carne Asada, and nightly entertainment that includes live music and karaoke.
